What does the role involve?
We are looking for a passionate and experienced merchant that is motivated to take Nike Football Licensed Apparel to the next level! You will lead and drive the seasonal process and business for Football Licensed Apparel, all the way from lineplan creation to seasonal execution.
The goal of the function is to serve the consumer and key football assets in EMEA with an amazing, relevant product line-up, available where they shop, at the right time, and the right price.
The priority of your work will be to build, manage and maintain the EMEA product line plan and assortment strategy with an editor’s mentality, ensuring the consumer has clear and compelling choice and we offer differentiation and segmentation across the marketplace.
You will work closely with cross functional partners across a range of functions in service of some of Europes biggest Football Clubs and Federations.
So in short – we are looking for an experienced Merchandising talent that is pro-active, flexible, collaborative, strategic and has a clear understanding of the training consumer needs with a sharp eye for product, assortment excellence and loves to drive a smooth process!
What will you be doing?
If this is you, you will consequently execute the EMEA Football Licensed Apparel Merchandising Strategy on a seasonal basis. This includes, amongst others, a strong ability to manage the assortment (processes) end to end , have a point of view on segmentation and the ability to cultivate innovation that will help elevate Nike Football Licensed Apparel to the consumer.
You will manage relationships with a range internal and external partners to ensure the needs of the Licensed partners as well as those of the Nike sport marketplace are met.
You will support with the launch coordination of in-season and tournament moments and monitor in season feedback and performance to ensure you can react quickly to the demands of the marketplace or Licensed partner.
As a Lead Merchant, you will manage the Football Licensed Apparel Business all the way from line planning to seasonal go to market throughout the seasonal CODE process and build and maintain the EMEA product line and assortment plan based on consumer-led marketplace capacity information, being quick to respond to shifts in market trends by adapting and adjusting seasons in flight.

Wat vragen wij?

- Experience in Licensed merchandising and/or product creation demonstrating a high level of product, retail and merchandising acumen
- Strong interest in Elite level Men’s and Women’s Football.
- Strong administrative, system and proces management skills, preferably having some familiarity with existing Nike systems (mmx, av)
- Strong organizational skills with an ability to manage multiple workstreams, consolidate and/or amplify key insights and present this in a structred and compelling way.
- Strong teammate and ability to effectively collaborate with peers, cross functional partners and senior management on all aspects of the business within a complex matrix organizational set-up
- Experience with translating observations of trends, color, materials, and fashion into compelling product and assortment recommendations
- A clear understanding of the EMEA consumer and marketplace, and a great balance of art and science
- Ability to deliver results against tight and complex timelines with competing priorities
- Strong business orientation, analytical approach and retail math
- Advanced influencing, communication & storytelling skills
- Positive, problem-solving and pro-active attitude with high level of accountability
