We are seeking a highly motivated individual with strong technical background and data experience to
join the Pathology Testing Operations, team as a Greenhouse Research Employee, in Bergschenhoek,

What You Will Do:
Performing (limited) machine (mechanical) and manual work tool handling and operating implements
aimed at performing acts and assist emphasis is on daily crop care such as: Sow by hand, twisting plants,
lowering plants, picking & planting plants, leaf cutting, vibrating trusses, preparing facilities, removing
crops from the facilities, cleaning facilities, and keeping the department clean.
Perform plant pathogen inoculation according to protocols. Perform pathogen quality control, follow up on
symptom development, and perform plant phenotyping when needed.
For these tasks is important to have a good physic. For these tasks it’s important to work with focus and
concentration. A lot of different numbers and plants will pass and those must all be handled in an
accurate way. Double checking should be in the system. Working in a tidy manner is required.
Activities will require bending and lifting, long periods of sitting or standing.

- Extended hours may be required during peak seasons.
- Weekend shifts required.
- You meet the HSE and phytosanitary protocol while performing your work
- Able to identify and warn in case of deviations in quality (visual)
- Must be able to read and write, to understand verbal and written task and safety instructions
delivered in English and/or Dutch, and to perform assigned tasks accurately.
- Provide support for Bayer’s safety and phytosanitary programs by adhering to all related policies
and attendance at regular company sponsored safety meetings.
- You can communicate in a constructive way to colleagues.
- You can use tools and equipment in a responsible manner.
